the Self Presents The Collective Unconscious Pt 11

Episode #11 from the series 'the Self Presents The Collective Unconscious' for Fnoob Techno Radio.

“Be silent and listen: have you recognized your madness and do you admit it? Have you noticed that all your foundations are completely mired in madness? Do you not want to recognize your madness and welcome it in a friendly manner? You wanted to accept everything. So accept madness too. Let the light of your madness shine, and it will suddenly dawn on you. Madness is not to be despised and not to be feared, but instead you should give it life...If you want to find paths, you should also not spurn madness, since it makes up such a great part of your nature...Be glad that you can recognize it, for you will thus avoid becoming its victim. Madness is a special form of the spirit and clings to all teachings and philosophies, but even more to daily life, since life itself is full of craziness and at bottom utterly illogical."

Kitty Hawk - 16 Days

In honour of International Women's Day I hereby post the lyrics for our song 16 Days. It deals with gender based violence (the 16 Days of Activism of the United Nations and the memory of the Mirabal Sisters) and letting go of toxic masculinity. On top of that it is a shout out to the art of Emma Ruth Rundle en her song 'Protection' in particular.

16 DAYS

She gave me 16 days
To access my hidden mind

It's teaching me
Breaking me
Deconstructing me
Building me anew

I found a form of true protection
It's in the tearing me down
To hell with false ideas of manhood
I’ll drag my pride through the mud

It's teaching me
Breaking me
Deconstructing me
Building me anew

She gave me 16 days
To assess my hidden mind

Commemorate the Sisters Mirabal
Fuck you and your patriarchy...
Fuck you and your patriarchy!

She gave me 16 days
To access my hidden mind

She gave me 16 days
To lay bare my humanity
